AI is everywhere in real estate right now. Every CRM, every lead provider, every platform is talking about the AI element they’re adding to help serve consumers. It’s the big buzzword.
But here’s the real question I want you to think about: Is AI actually giving you good real estate information?
Here’s the truth about AI in real estate. AI is only as good as the input. That’s where things start to break down. Real estate can easily be wrong or misinterpreted by AI, and it usually comes down to the data that’s available.
If the data is old, if the statistics are outdated, or if the question isn’t asked the right way, the answer you get back isn’t going to be very useful.
Ask a general question, get a general answer. This is a mistake I see all the time. Someone asks something broad like, “How is the real estate market going to be in 2025?” And AI spits out national statistics.
That might sound impressive, but those numbers may have absolutely nothing to do with a local market, like Tampa.
Local real estate doesn’t fit into national stats. Real estate is local. When AI pulls national data, it can miss what’s really happening on the ground. And when AI gets real estate wrong, it’s usually not the AI’s fault. It’s because the user didn’t provide the correct prompt.
The prompt is everything. Every question you ask needs to be specific. Every piece of information you want from AI depends on how you ask for it. The more general the question, the more dumbed-down and basic the answer is going to be. That’s just how it works.
Want better AI answers? If you want great information out of AI, you have to be willing to put great information into the AI chatbot. AI isn’t magic. It doesn’t replace thinking. It responds to what you give it.
AI can be a powerful tool in real estate, but only if you use it the right way. The quality of the answers you get is directly tied to the quality of the questions you ask. Use it loosely, and you’ll get loose information.
AI can be a great tool when it’s used correctly. If you want help asking better questions, understanding real data, and getting information that actually makes sense for your situation, reach out to me at (813) 359-8990. I’d be glad to help.
